The world's most famous office chair becomes even more sustainable: the matt black Aeron Onyx is made of ocean plastic.

For 30 years, the Aeron has stood for sustainability & innovation and has always consisted of half recycled material. But old master Don Chadwick did not want to accept this when he adapted the design for the second time. There are 86 million tons of plastic in our oceans and the amount is increasing every year. In order to wrest at least a little plastic from the sea, HermanMiller extracts the so-called "ocean bound plastic" (OBP) and mixes it into the components of the Aeron Onyx. In the future of HermanMiller's "new normal", you can be the first to make a difference by choosing the Aeron Onyx!

Full focus on sustainability

• New touch: With the Aeron Onyx, HermanMiller introduces the first matt black chair to the Aeron Remastered family thanks to a new color mix. It immediately catches the eye with its high-contrast appearance.
  
  
• Ocean plastic used: The Aeron Onyx is made from more GF nylon and PET bottles from the ocean than any other product before. Its production means that 150 million tons of plastic can be recycled and reused every year - the equivalent of around 15 million water bottles per year.

• Circular Economy: To avoid more waste, recycling is more important than ever, because not even a third of plastic waste is recycled. HermanMiller is committed to the principle of reusing raw materials as much as possible.
